The Sunday Sun yesterday (23 June 2013) had a great money saving piece for holiday-goers which included buying car hire excess insurance from iCarhireinsurance.com
Travel editor, Lisa Minot, said: “Excess Insurance – if you have an accident you will pay the first £300 to £1000 of the cost of any damage. Car rental companies will hard sell you a policy to reduce this to nil for up to £25 a day. Take out a policy before you go with iCarhireinsurance.com”.
Thanks Lisa.
Similarly the Mail on Sunday also said, “Buy your own excess waiver”, and NOT from the car hire company.
It too, recommends iCarhireinsurance.com and also gives another excellent reason to buy a policy. “Another attraction,” it said, “is that these stand-alone plans…provide cover that is often excluded from hire firm plans, such as damage to tyres, windows and undercarriage.”
